Karimnagar district is one of the 31 districts of the Indian state of Telangana. Karimnagar city is its administrative headquarters.EtymologyKarimnagar was originally called Elagandala. Later Kannada kingdoms such as Western Chalukyas ruled it. It was part of the great Satavahana Empire.
