Assen is a municipality and a city in the northeastern Netherlands, and is the capital of the province of Drenthe. Start off your visit on the 25th (Wed): examine the collection at Drents Museum, see the interesting displays at Gevangenisemuseum (The Prison Museum), then steep yourself in history at Kamp Westerbork, and finally pause for some serene contemplation at Adventskerk.
