Diekirch

Diekirch is a commune with town status in north-eastern Luxembourg, capital city of the canton Diekirch and the district of Diekirch. On the 23rd (Tue), see the interesting displays at Conservatoire National de Vehicules Historiques, contemplate the long history of Vianden Castle, then pause for some photo ops at Bronze bust - Victor Hugo, and finally explore the ancient world of Bourscheid Castle.

To see where to stay, other places to visit, more things to do, and more tourist information, refer to the Diekirch day trip website.

Luxembourg City to Diekirch is an approximately 1-hour car ride. You can also take a train; or take a bus. In June, daytime highs in Diekirch are 25°C, while nighttime lows are 14°C. Cap off your sightseeing on the 23rd (Tue) early enough to go by car back home.

The northern area of Luxembourg, Diekirch District, resides within a hilly region and, though sparsely populated, boasts mountainside villages and natural sights worth exploring. The region becomes more mountainous the closer you travel to its borders with Belgium and Germany. Tour quaint hillside destinations or vacation in larger towns. Experience the district's well-known monuments, historical castles, and popular museums, including the National Museum of Military History, which is one of its most-visited tourist attractions.
