Siewdass Sadhu's Temple in The Sea, Trinidad

#2 of 11 in Historic Sites in Trinidad
Founded in 1995, Siewdass Sadhu's Temple in The Sea remains the only temple in Trinidad found resting on the water. Interestingly, oil drums filled with concrete form the foundations, tied together with steel. Flags surround the single central dome, all with different colors and meanings. Step inside the small white building to find different vibrantly colored Hindu deities. • You have to visit this temple. Apart from the history it encloses (the why of its construction), the site really has a burden of regenerative spirituality!

  • Great landmark that highlights some history of Trinidad. Sunsets at this location are truly amazing. Only downside is that the temple closes at 5:30pm
  • Also know as the Temple In The Sea, it's a smaller temple but very scenic and passes by the Hanuman murti on the way. Together, they make a great day trip. Note: Bring some food for the dogs there. They will appreciate it.
