Visit an oasis of tranquility at the Hague Clingendael Park's Japanese Garden. The garden was established by Baroness Marguerite Mary van Brienen, known as Lady Daisy, who made several trips to Japan in the early 20th century and brought back authentic works of art, as well as garden bridges and the pavilion. In addition to exploring the rich collection of plants, you can admire a variety of lanterns, statues, and a Shinto shrine. The garden is usually open seasonally--but the schedule may vary due to weather conditions. Admission is free. Poor, small “trying to look Japanese garden” place - maybe the season wasn’t helpful. Very small garden within Clingendael park. Structures are cheap (Dutch) looking; Japanese style maintenance of... more »
An unique experience, in a small confined space in the Hague. The way they created a small ecosystem between the trees is really incredible. It is only is sometimes open.. So make sure to check the website. As a Dutch I can recommend it to relax, especially if the room aren't too many tourists. Enjoy!
Beautiful garden in the middle of a nice park. Entrance is free and it’s nice and small so no need to budget a lot of time here unless you’re a serious photographer. We went on a Monday afternoon and it was pretty quiet although I would expect it to be much busier on the weekends so try to come on a weekday if you can.
