De Duif, Amsterdam

Along De Duif, one of the city's main canals, you can view several monuments, historic architecture, and one of the city's popular quarters. This canal is the longest of the central canals that help to shape the city, which include Herengracht, Keizersgracht, and Singel. Named after the Prince of Orange, this body of water is noted for the canal houses built alongside it during the Dutch Golden Age. Walk beside the water's edge and enjoy the cultural offerings of the Jordaan neighborhood. You can stop by several tourist sites along the way, such as the Northern Church, Northern Market, Anne Frank House, Western Church, and Homomonument. • The Prince's canal is the most outer and longest of the 4 concentric and semi-circular canals in Amsterdam, and the main voyage of the boat is in the Prince's canal. The river has the most crowded House of Anne, and the tallest western Church in Amsterdam. The spire of the high towering of the West Church stands on the river, the most beautiful wind on the Prince's River, day or night.

  • The city of canals is just stunning. Clean and more beautiful than I remembered. There are 3 canals that bring the city together and De Duif is one of them. The beautiful and unique slender buildings, beautiful bridges, cafes and bars make it a fabulous place. Awesome to wander down in any weather. I have so many photos, but hard to identify one canal from another when you're not well acquainted with the area. Just enjoy.
  • Old and classic church. Really nice acoustics. Seems authentic but a little small.
  • Stand-up comedy in a church! Great experience! Definitely to try.
  • Very nice location! It looks awesome but the show I saw had a very bad sound system but I don’t know if the place is in charge of this.
  • Old church turned into a nice cosy concert hall.
