Railay Beach, Railay Beach

4.1
Take a dip into the calm waters at Railay Beach, an isolated strip of sand accessible only by boat. The beach especially attracts rock climbers eager to tackle the limestone cliffs that frame it, with some 700 climbing trails in the surrounding area. Whether or not you scramble up the cliff face you'll enjoy the spot's relaxed atmosphere, clean sand, and clear waters. Onsite restaurants and other amenities cater to a wide range of tastes. The impressive cliffs of the coast provide excellent photo opportunities, and the isolated nature of the beach means you get unimpeded shots of some of Thailand's best coastal landscape. Plan your visit to Railay Beach and a wealth of other attractions, well-known and undiscovered, using our Krabi Town trip itinerary planner .

  • Railay Beach is an island fully surrounded by hotel resorts. If you like rock climbing then this is a good place for it. The lagoon is pretty but it feels crowded when more people actually go there to...  more »

  • High raised limestone cliffs harbouring a fascinating beach with warm beautiful sands. Without a boat it is almost difficult to reach this beauty in the heart of Thailand's wonderful landscape. The waters are warm hence inviting a swimming. The crowd isn't that big, attracts few locals who at times entertain visitors with diving from the high cliffs into the sea waters.
  • I wouldn’t spend my vacations here... full of tourists, the long tails boats are noisy and pollute the water. Speaking of the water it’s not clean. Restaurants are not authentic Thai places, they’ll sell you burgers and pizzas... go somewhere else if you’re looking for quiet and pristine beaches.
  • Lovely little beach, the only way to visit is by the longboats....wear sensible waterproof shoes as you have to climb into the boat and get off the boat into the ocean. Lots of sharp coral underfoot and also tbe beach. Expensive cafes on the waterfront, but if you make your way further away from the ocean there are lots of small shops and cafes very reasonably priced. There a lots of rubbish piles the further back you walk, lots of flies and we met a couple of unscrupulous shop vendors. Know your currency and change, shopkeepers are reluctant to barter. Definitely worth the visit.
  • Beautiful, lovely restaurants and availability to kayak or SUP. Kayak for 1 hour is 200 baht, can be split between two. Just annianno being asked several times if you want a massage.
  • The secluded Railay (Rai Leh) Beach, is like paradise on earth indeed. All you need is a hammock, perhaps a good book, and a cool cocktail for a true island getaway. Nature lovers would feel right at home with its various limestone rock formations, scenic beaches, and exotic wildlife. Among the many interesting sights of Krabi, Thailand, the famous Tiger Cave Temple is not to be missed. Whether you prefer to explore Krabi, Thailand by speedboat or on a sunset cruise, it won’t disappoint. You’ll get lovely photo opportunities and an enchanting experience like no other.
