Phuket Elephant Sanctuary Reviews
Not the cheapest day out - but VERY rewarding. After a harowing 10 Minute video explaining why they rescue only older female elephants and not bulls, we were taken an a stroll around the "park" and hy... more »

This place was amazing. It's very easy to see how well they treat the animals and how happy they are roaming free. The customer service of the staff is amazing, the food is delicious, and the grounds are beautiful. Such a magical experience. We did the full day package and we're so surprised by how much you learn and bond with the animals. If we could give it more than 5 stars we would!
This sanctuary gave us a truly life-changing experience. The stories of the elephants' lives before coming to the sanctuary are so heartbreaking, it was hard not to cry when hearing them. However, the staff and mahouts are so dedicated to loving and caring for these elephants that it almost makes up for the pain of their former lives. I felt really honoured to be able to observe the elephants eating, bathing, and playing however they wanted. The work done by the staff at Phuket Elephant Sanctuary is so important, and I cannot stress how genuinely devoted they are to the well-being of these lovely creatures. We had a walking tour of the sanctuary, where we got to see each of the elephants that live there. The park itself is also beautiful and lush, what a great place for them to live! After the tour, we got to feed 2 of the elephants fresh fruit and vegetables (there was a fence to separate us so we don't accidentally hurt them) and it was so cute to see how picky they are :) They love fruit, but if you try to hand them a cucumber, they'll drop it on the floor! The staff also provided all of us attendees with a large and varied buffet of vegetarian Thai food which was so delicious. I will remember these elephants and their stories for the rest of my life, and I know everyone else who goes here will too. Thank you so much for this extraordinary experience!
