Mango Bay Reviews
On y est allés en scooter et, bien qu'habitués aux montées et descentes les plus rudes de Koh Tao, on était pas prêts pour cette (absence de) route ! C'est vraiment rien de dire qu'il faut être sporti... more »We went by scooter and, although accustomed to the steepest climbs and descents of Koh Tao, we were not ready for this (lack of) road! It's really nothing to say that you have to be athletic to do it, because you are and you were MORTS. After having 45 scares on the "road", we stop the scoot and end up on foot. We pay 100baths to be able to continue the path and go down hundreds of steps (arrival downstairs, my legs trembled). We arrive on a hotel terrace, where the waiter treats us super badly when we say we do not stay in the hotel... nice. Diving is beautiful, frankly, but you can find the same elsewhere for much less hassle (Hin Wong Bay, for example). We then leave, to reassemble everything we had descended, and we find the wheel of his scooter punctured ... surely by the guy who has a bar a little higher and who... miracle... repair scooters! But before you go to give it 400baths for repair, you still have to climb 1km of coast (without concrete road always) by dragging the scooter. Of course, to realize that the tire was flat, we had driven 10 seconds with it, before sliding downhill. Really hyper dangerous, I was transient and I had my leg broken. In short, it was an adventure, but it really ruined us half a day (and the wallet): don't make that mistake and go to Hin Wong Bay or Freedom Beach instead!

It was also a fun experience for us, but you have to pay close attention. Especially if there was rain it is better to postpone, or take the boat that leads directly to the beach. Once you get to the top there are 385 steps to get to the pier below. After the first 100 descent there is a bar where to pay 100 baths each (which include the sunbeds in the pier below). We had an unpleasant inconvenience: the affection, with which it was very difficult to communicate since he did not speak English, had no money to change, so we had to go back, redo the way on scooter and stop at the first "bar" available. So I recommend you arrive with the right pieces! Arriving at the bottom of the staircase and sitting on the deckchairs, we noticed that getting to the beach was difficult from that point except by sea. It is also true that the beach was chock-full of tourists with orange vests and the shore was overrun with boats. So we preferred to snorkel directly from the pier. The fish are very beautiful, colorful and numerous! Thankfully, given the adventures to see them.
