Get a bit of outdoor adventure in the company of elephants at Taweechai Elephant Camp. The camp offers a variety of activities, including an adrenaline-inducing ride down the nearby river on a bamboo raft. You can watch the elephants do various impressive tricks and later interact with them, and even bathe and care for them. Ride the elephants down to the river, where the gentle giants like to squirt water at visitors and splash about. Keep in mind that the mahouts will be expecting tips throughout your ride. Taweechai Elephant Camp Reviews
We went in some camps to pick our event for the next day. Here we saw first souvenirshops, staff not smiling and as the worst two elephant babies that were on really short chains. As a photo point the... more »

Mahouts give orders with a stick that has a sharp tip, generating wounds that I could see in his head. I wish it could be without mistreatment, and instead of blows, prizes were used for elephants (food for example), which became a shelter of respectful elephants, and not a perpetual prison. I don't recommend it.
The best experience of my Thailand trip. Although it is a 3 hour trip from Bangkok, it is still worth it. The location may be difficult to find for the foreigners. I joined a local tour to visit the place, which in my opinion is the easier way. Getting in water with elephants is magical and exciting. Never expected that one day I would get fully wet by the elephants. Remember to bring extra clothes because you are guaranteed to get all soaked up. Remember to wear contact lenses if nearsightedness is your problem because elephants may bring you into the water. If you wear glasses, they may get flushed away by the river.
It is a remarkable feeling standing next the these magnificent animals. You truly feel small. Gentle Giants. Sad that they've been using these animals for commercial use.
