  • We loved it. We saw him one day before the full moon party, so there were a lot of people making preparations. The place is beautiful, at the foot of a mountain (it takes about 40 minutes to get there) and surrounded by jungle landscape. We've seen more temples in Chiang Mai and Bangkok, but it's the one we liked the most. The climbing ladder is long, but anyone who is in half shape climbs it without problem (that there are people that burst, it will be because they don't exercise or have a medical problem) but come on, there is an elevator for the more vague. The legend of why it was built there is priceless, and I mention besides that by a small donation you can be blessed by the monks, we found it incredible. Now, if you don't like these temple things, you'd better let it be and go get a massage...

  • Temple located in a wooded area near one of the first temples of the city built more than 600 years ago and also worth a visit. Its main attraction is the magnificent view over Chiang Mai.

  • Very cool but also very crowded. Everyone is taking bowing pics which I thought was a little macabre but whatever. If you want to do the hike its about 2 hours and pretty difficult and steep so prepare accordingly. Bring water and bug spray and proper shoes! I don't really recommend it it's kind of a boring hike without many if any view points. I would recommend taking a taxi or driver to the top doing a little shopping and taxing back. Try to smoothies they are amazing! I got a strawberry, banana, avocado - they will let you mix and match. When you go into the Temple you need to wear clothes that cover your knees and shoulders. If you want to you can buy the cool elephant pants and shirts at one of the shops right outside. Enjoy!
  • This was a wonderful visit. The temple is beautiful and I spoke to a few of the Monk's and they were very friendly and we're very happy to talk. We received a wonderful blessing work water and prayer. It was very nice.
