Cleaned up and free of drug trade, this is now a favorite place for tourists to visit and learn about former opium production and smuggling. Located in the northern section of Thailand, this area is also home to indigenous tribes, archeological ruins, and scenic nature. To get the most out of your time here, consider a guided tour. Hübsche Anlage, die den Umstand, das sich dort drei Ländergrenzen (Thailand, Laos und Myanmar) touristisch geschickt ausschlachtet. Der Blick auf den Mehkong ist beeindruckend. The view of the Mehkong is impressive. We gave ourselves a boat trip to Laos. We found the visit to the Opium Museum worthwhile.
So you can say you've been there--that's about it. The park is not that impressive, although the views are nice on a clear day. To learn about the opium trade that used to be a major part of life here, visit the nearby museum. If you keep driving down the road a ways, there will be carts along the road in the evening that sell various types of food. The clay hot pot is particularly good if you like that sort of thing, and the prices are fairly reasonably considering you get a great view of the river from your table.
I feel like I achieved one of my goals once I reach Golden Triangle. The scenery totally beautiful as it nearby with Laos and Myanmar border. We do enjoy the street stall selling local craft and foods. Wish to come again on future.
