This temple not only houses relics of Buddha, but is also a testimony of the grit and courage of a monk, that stems from renunciation and devotion. This monk inspired the people of Phuket to stave off the Chinese who were seeking to wrest control over this island city. Unfortunately, sometimes one becomes a victim of such revolting sights when some Western tourists refuse to learn from the Oriental pilgrims and behave with crass irreverence. Why, they even refuse to emulate the respectful behaviour expressed by their own counterparts. Some tourists seem to forget that they are supposed to wear clothes as they stroll into sacred places of worship with what can be termed as nothing less than a vulgar skin display.

Very nice place to visit. There are a number of ornate temples and shrines set within this park. You can enter inside if you take off your shoes. Walk up the tower of the temple towards the far end of the site to get a good view of the entire complex. Near the entrance there are a number of shops, and there is plenty of parking for cars and coaches.
