A popular attraction for the savvy shopper, Train Night Market is not as well-known as some of the capital's larger markets, but the wide variety of items on sale make this an intriguing if off-the-beaten-path option. The stalls at this open-air bazaar stock a selection of goods ranging from retro memorabilia, vintage collectibles, and a selection of items on the budget-friendly end of the scale. Leave plenty of time for the food stalls, where you can taste some authentic Thai specialties before wandering around the rest of the market. It is a big night market which shall keep you busy for at least 1-2 hours. The shopping is great, if you know how to bargain. The food is also available in the market which is cheaper than outside... more »
I read so many comments about the flood of Chinese tourists to this night market... it's all true!! Fortunately the Chinese are only visiting the merchandise stalls so the food stalls are not too crowded. We had a good seafood and ribs dinner, just pick the stall with the most customers.
If it's your first time to Bangkok than I might understand. But definitely too many tourists here. Get a quick bite to eat if you must and then go somewhere else to experience Bangkok. If I lived here I probably would feel different because everything is here.
