  • (ENGLISH VERSION BELOW) I have just completed the "African Lions Safari" of Tanzania Wildcats Safaris (Tarangire, Serengeti, Ngorongoro Crater and Lake Manyara). My guide was Amos, the owner, who comes from a tribe living near the crater. And he's truly an extraordinary guide, with more than 20 years of experience. He always makes sure that the jeep is in good condition so that we don't waste any time stopped on the side of the road... He knows where to go/what to look to locate the animals, stopping the engine and THE CB radio at each stop so as to eliminate those background noises in the videos. I never felt pressured to leave a place where we had stopped to observe animals (he asks before leaving). If you listen and accept his proposals, you will be highly grateful. This guide is known as Barabbas in the Passion (I told him that he should run as mayor of Arusha, or even as President of the Republic of Tanzania!). We left very early in the morning to observe the nocturnal animals, but above all to be the first on the track (impressive to be alone in the Serengeti and to observe the sunrise). This proved particularly profitable when visiting the crater when we were the 3rd to reach it, which allowed us to see at sunrise two rhinos, our 5th animal of the "Big 5", who were returning from the plain to hide in the forest (t difficult to see them at this time because they hide there during the day). An interesting fact is that I wondered why the vast majority of the towers went to Lake Manyara on their way to the Serengeti when he was only doing it at the very end.
