A complex of old warehouses converted into exhibition halls and artsy boutiques, The Pier-2 Art Centre houses various modern art projects in the middle of a huge abandoned industrial district. Take in the psychedelic-colored sculptures, installations, graffiti, large paintings, and other street art, and browse around the various industrial structures, including an old steam engine on display. You can also stroll along the wharf or take a mini-train tour of this post-industrial area, built in 1973. Cafes, bars, bookstores, and handicraft shops cluster in this private, university-managed center. The Pier-2 Art Centre Reviews
Passeio muito bonito! Porém, não espere ver um robô amarelo, mas sim um robô desbotado. A pintura em 3D é muito bonita! Muitos lugares para caminhar! Aproveite a vista! more »Very beautiful ride! But don't expect to see a yellow robot, but a faded robot. The 3D painting is very beautiful! Lots of places to walk! Enjoy the view!
Absolutely love this area. We fell upon it when our hotel was near by and just fell in love. The amount of work that was put in to make this place so esthetically pleasing is amazing. ART is very much... more »
Definitely a place to go see if you love art and trains. Their are many beautiful art paintings on the side of building and lots of steel sculptures. There are shops that sell pretty unique things and there is a tiny market in the middle of the street that you can explore. It was really interesting to see that you can take a short train ride, which turned out to be a ride a mini train. Really cute and fun. Further down there is a big open area with train tracks and sculptures are place randomly for you to take some cool photos. It’s a really nice place to explore and enjoy the are and chilled relaxed atmosphere.
Pier 2 Art Center is a collection of galleries, shops, exhibitions and cafe's located at the old harbour of Kaohsiung. Everything is located in the old warehouses that used to store all the goods that came into the harbour. You can buy 1 ticket to visit several exhibitions in the park. Some exhibitions and the nearby Railway Museum require a separate ticket. The art center is a great way to spend an afternoon to flex your creative mind, but also to explore the many craft shops that are housed inside the warehouses. Outside there is also a lot of street art that are sometimes hidden away to be discovered by people who take enough time to look around them. This is definitely my favorite place in Kaohsiung.
