Chishingtan Scenic Area, Xincheng

#1 of 49 in Beaches in Taiwan
Must see · Beach · Water Body
Just past the airport lies Chishingtan Scenic Area, a city zone dotted with calming parks, tropical palm trees, pleasant beaches, and art. The entire area rests at the tip of a crescent bay, where fishers sell seafood freshly caught in the Pacific. The 21 km (13 mi) trail offers many attractions, including a stone sculpture park, children's playground, botanical gardens, and stargazing section for astronomy lovers. Rent a bike to explore the visitor-friendly neighborhood with ease and examine the maritime culture that envelops it. Due to geological composition, the beach was once considered a stone-collector's haven, but picking valuable rocks recently became illegal. Our Xincheng vacation app makes visiting Chishingtan Scenic Area and other Xincheng attractions simple, and helps you make a travel plan personal to you.

  • This beach is refreshingly clean, unpolluted and does not reek of that briny smell Which typify most beaches. Moreover, instead of sand, there are multitudes of pebbles of all shapes, shades and...  more »
  • It is surely one of the most beautiful scenic spots that everyone should visit when they come to Hualien. The vast ocean and cool breeze will certainly soothe your anxiety and all your stress. Make sure you bring an umbrella or a raincoat because it is common to have some temporary drizzles from time to time. Plus, you can pile some of the pebbles and make a wish with it. Finally, it is a great place to take amazing pictures and have some snacks from the vendors there.
  • Great view, nice beach to enjoy the wind and watching the wave. This is not the beach to go if you are looking for water activities. Due to the current and wave its not a safe beach for swimming. Its also right next to the airport that's shared by civic and military aircrafts. When we were there we saw a couple F16s taking off and it was awesome!
