  • Clean, well maintained, and extremely financially strong temple. It worships Matzu or Goddess of the Sea, and the temple is well liked by locals and especially by fishermen and marine related business. The Temple was also called Chingan Temple, Keelung MaTzu (Matsu) Temple, and it is one of the three large temple a in n Keelung. The temple was built in 1780 by early immigrants who were mainly fishermen and marine sailing. Then, it was expanded and rebuilt in current site in 1815, although it was rebuilt in 1842 and 1912 due to earthquake damge, war, and natural worn-out. The temple is articulate in its stone-based building structure, including gates, columns, frames, and others.
