Built in 1927, PaoChueh Temple attracts visitors with its giant Buddha, which stands seven stories tall in tribute to the temple's resident deity, Gautama Buddha. While the rest of the temple is relatively small, the massive statue makes for great photography opportunities. However, you can also seek out some of the smaller delights, like the fish pond, the garden, and the smaller Japanese temple nearby. This blend of Taiwanese and Japanese Buddhism signifies the reconciliation and healing that occurred between the two cultures after World War II. PaoChueh Temple Reviews
more »I looked at it in a guidebook. I thought that it was a symbol of a big Yai bodhisattva, a city that can be seen from a distance. However, it is sitting on the side of the main temple of the temple, and when i look near, I say, "This is it? It is a feeling. Rather than go all the way, it is a feeling of something incidental. The service is not good, so it's a good idea to take a taxi.
日本統治時代に建立された臨済宗妙心寺派の禅寺で境内に日本人の慰霊碑もあります。黄金の大きな布袋さん(台湾では弥勒菩薩とされているらしい)と摩ると御利益があるという石像が見どころ。 more »There is also a Japanese monument in the precincts at the Zen temple of the Rinzai Sect Myoshinji school, which was built during the Japanese rule. The highlight is the large golden cloth bag (which seems to be considered yai bodhisattva in Taiwan) and the stone statue that there is a benefit when it is manda.
Lovely little spot tucked away in Beitun. Beautiful Buddhist Temple with Koi pond and gardens. Great place to relax, read, meditate, or take photos. I sat and watched a gardener trim hedges for half an hour. Zen like.
Very peace place, I want peace in mind with successful work as per environment. Budha teaches Panchsheel Marg, Aatangikmarg they are very essential for heman for better living in the world.
