Glacier Express, Zermatt

#1 of 20 in Tours in Zermatt
The world's slowest luxury express train, Glacier Express links the glitzy mountain resorts of St. Moritz and Zermatt in the idyllic Swiss Alps. Passing through World Heritage-listed landscapes, the train traverses 291 bridges and 91 tunnels, crossing a mountain pass 2,033 m (6,670 ft) above sea level. The giant windows of the elegantly designed panoramic carriages give you unobstructed views of the majestic Alpine scenery, including lush valleys, deep gorges, and soaring mountaintops. If you can't devote an entire day to admiring mountains landscapes from inside a train carriage, choose a shorter section of the journey and get off at one of the railway's intermediate stations. You must reserve your seats in advance, so plan ahead and book online. Use our Zermatt online driving holiday planner to add Glacier Express and other attractions to your Zermatt vacation plans.

  • This time I rode four people, agent was arranged on the common road side of the four, but I can not help, the seat of the vehicle in front and behind is conspicuous and asked to ask the staff to sit together four seats, English is difficult to understand, or left to say for busy immediately, Next, the schedule will depart around 10:00, but there is no notification of the two-hour extension because of system trouble, and the person who cannot speak English is left, and the Asian does not correspond as much as possible... Anyway, I expected a big disappointment... In the future, it will be safer to take a tour or to bring a fluent English.
