Sammlung Oskar Reinhart, Winterthur

Consider the Frick museum in New York and you wouldn't be far off when experiencing this impressive collection and former residence. You're greeted at the door w an impressive Tintoretto portrait and the rest of the collection is as compelling: a remarkable Manet group bar scene and one of his later cut flowers; jacopo bassano; several by can gogh that aren't well known but so great; I'm not a renoir fan but loved all hanging here; daumier; monet; and on and on...a very exacting collector of only the best from ea artist. Lucky us! A quick trip out on s12 from Zurich and the museum van every 00:45 with a return on the hour. The cafe looked cute. And then back into town for two more great paintings museums. And walk around the old town area. The perfect day!

One of the best art collections you could see. I was not expecting such gathering in this place. The house, Garten and surroundings are beatifull. You can get there by taxi or just take the bus from Winteturh station and walk to it (I would recommend this is very nice walk). You can easily spend a couple of hours there is you like art. Must see if you are nearby, just 40 min from Zürich. I miss say one more time, very impressive, Mr. Reinhart had an incredible eye for art.
