  • Eglise orthodoxe russe sainte mégalomartyre Barbara. "Ma maison sera appelée maison de prière pour toutes les nations dit le Seigneur." (Isaïe 56:7) Témoigne de la présence l ' Église orthodoxe russe sur les bords du Léman. Don du comte Pierre Chouvalov en mémoire de sa fille, Barbara et de sa petite-fille Maria Orlov, enterrées au chevet de l ' Église, l'édifice a été réalisé en 1878 par l'architecte veveysan Jean-Samuel Késer-Doret sur la base d'un projet établi en Russie par l'architecte Hyppolite Monighetti. La riche décoration intérieure allie fresques et toiles de Saint-Pétersbourg envoyées. L'iconostase, conçue à Saint-Pétersbourg vers 1845, provient de la chapelle de la villa des comtes Chouvalov à Palerme. La croix dans le jardin est celle de la tombe du prince Serge Golitsyne, enterré au cimetière Saint-Martin, mécène du monument sculpté en 1899 à Andermatt en hommage à la traversée des Alpes victorieuse par l ' Armée russe du généralissime Alexandre Souvorov en 1799. Monseigneur Ambroise, né prince Pierre Cantacuzène, premier évêque de Vevey, vécut et officia ici jusqu'à sa mort en 2009. La paroisse est multiculturelle. Les offices sont célébrés en slavon et en français. The Russian Orthodox Church of St. Barbara "my house shall be called a House of prayer, all languages in the courts of the Lord." (Isaiah 56:7) was built in 1878, architect j.-c. Kaeser-doret on the draft on the graph tools Monighetti I.a. P.p. The first bishop of Vevejskij, Bishop Ambrose, Prince Pyotr Kantakuzen, lived and served here until his death in 2009, the Church combines Orthodox parishioners of different nationalities. Services are held in Church Slavonic and French.

  • The church certainly is beautiful, with its history. Visit her worth. Yes but it is rarely open. Were there once at the vigil service on Easter Sunday. Many people from different countries. Were Yugoslavs, Bulgarians, even a couple of afrikanok. The service also in different languages, chunks: first on one, then the other. That is understandable only some part of it at best. The current priest, say generally does not speak Russian. In general it does not feel the grace that is in our homes, churches or the atmosphere, which is normally present on Easter Sunday.

  • Although the service was in russian and people werent made to put head covers on i really enjoyed to feel the strength of faith far away from Russia providing me with strength and peace within
