The Splügen Pass (German: Splügenpass; Italian: Passo dello Spluga; 2,114 m (6,936 ft)) is an Alpine mountain pass of the Lepontine Alps. It connects the Swiss, Grisonian Thusis 5 kilometres (3.1 mi) to the north 675 metres (2,215 ft) below the pass with the Italian Chiavenna 21 kilometres (13 mi) to the south at the end of the Valle San Giacomo 1,789 metres (5,869 ft) below the pass.

  • On our way back from the Lago Maggiore we took the route across the Splugen Pass. It was a scenic drive with some snow at the highest point (2.114 m) where Italy kisses Switzerland.  more »
  • All I can say is WAOW! What a stunning road and scenery. The views are breathtaking and you want to stop every minute to take pictures. A must to for all bikers 👍  more »

  • Beautiful pass as has been described many times here. However, I do not recommend attempting to drive this pass after an all-night flight from the US. It can be a bit stressful without the proper amount of sleep😀!
