The Cathedral of Bern, Bern

Rising over the old town, The Cathedral of Bern stands as the tallest cathedral in Switzerland. The structure's crowning feature is its 100.6 m (330 ft) tower, which affords views of the Alps on a clear day from the top. To get there, you'll need to climb about 350 steep stone steps, which take you past the original church bells. Built in 1421, today the Gothic cathedral is a Cultural Property of National Significance. Pay the small entrance fee to visit the tower, or enjoy a free cathedral tour of the main area. • Beautiful cathedral, but the highlight is the view that you have from the tower. You enter through a myriad of steps, but once at the top the view is gorgeous. You will enjoy Bern at 360 ° from the highest point of the city. To see.

  • The Bern cathedral is a fine specimen of Gothic style and is the most recent of the great Gothic cathedrals of Switzerland. The construction work began in 1421 and continued until the 16th century. In its current form it was completed only in 1890 when the conical end was added. It has a height of 100 meters and is the tallest church in Switzerland. The main entrance, the pulpit, the middle cleat and the glass charts are the most impressive spots. It is surrounded by a beautiful square, which ends in stone alleys with old picturesque buildings of the historic center.

  • Gorgeous inside and outside. Massive organ in the back. Lit a candle in memory of a loved one and because its Easter. Extremely cool cathedral.
  • This is an outstanding cathedral, in a beautiful city, with phenomenal views. There is a fee to climb the stairs to view Bern and the surrounding region from the top of the building, and I have been told it is worth it. It is grand inside with ornate decorations including spectacular stained glass windows and an amazing organ. As you would expect, you can light a candle for loved ones for a small donation. Loved it.
