Known for its gold room full of treasure and artifacts from the Viking age, The Swedish History Museum houses more than 10 million objects and works dating back to Mesolithic times. It aims to educate visitors about Sweden's archeological and cultural history. Though Bengt Romare and George Scherman designed the modern building in the 20th century, most of the artifacts on display are much older.
