The former home of Prince Eugen, Prins Eugens Waldemarsudde today represents one of the most popular art museums in Sweden. The state acquired the property after Prince Eugen's death. It includes the gallery and mansion, built by Ferdinand Boberg in 1905, as well as the old house and linseed mill, built in the 1780s. Tour the museum's exhibitions, with paintings by Prince Eugen and pieces from his personal collection. Walk through the estate's parkland for views of old oak trees, the harbor, and sculptures from French and Swedish artists. • If I was a prince, I would also have built my home here. I love everything about the place: the views, the flowerbeds, the art, the house, its furnishings, the art gallery. Even the coffee shop I like...  more »
  • went to visit this museum to see this exhibition on the painters of Grez on Loing (until August 18). It is a beautiful discovery to visit this former residence of Prince Eugene now vested in art. Beautiful exhibition on the colony of foreign artists who settled in Grez at the end of 19th notably Carl Larsson of which there was an Expo at the Petit Palais. Very beautiful paintings in a privileged place at the edge of the water. You can walk from the City Center (45 MN) or take the tram 7 that passes near the Vasa, Nordic Museum and ABBA. Price 150 SEK

  • I stumbled upon this landmark on accident while just taking a nice walk around Djurgården. The views are fantastic and the museum is really neat as well. It was a beautiful day and a very nice walk.
  • Brilliant. Saw two completely different exhibitions. Spent a couple of hours going around. Great views over the water. Lovely gardens.
