Named for its resemblence to a Gothic church, Fish Church today markets fresh catches as a fish market in Sweden's seafood hub. Gothenburg has long been known for its gastronomic scene, much of which focuses on fish and other seafood. Since this market opened in 1874, it has become an institution in the city, attracting tourists and locals alike. Tour the stalls of the indoor hall and purchase fish and shellfish, including local delicacies. If you're hungry, stop in to the site's seafood restaurant. Using our international travel planner, Gothenburg attractions like Fish Church can form part of a personalized travel itinerary.
Fish Church Reviews
Por fuera muy chulo, pero por dentro.. que decepción! Muy pequeño, solo una calle, por decirlo de alguna manera, con , literalmente , 4 puestos, y uno cerrado por regormas. In the market of my village there is more fish! We thought it would be super big and with a lot of fish... Not really! The restaurant didn't look bad, but we didn't like staying anymore. There was a lot of atmosphere outside, because the universities did something and it was full of students. The building on the outside is very cool.

In particular I recommend herring and smoked salmon with mustard and black pepper! They weigh everything on you and put them in comfortable transparent tubs, so that you can settle outside where there are tables and benches and enjoy your food. They also sell loathes of bread, make you a disposable knife and fork - wipes and there's also the option to heat your fish in comfortable microwave ovens. We having taken the plastic tubs we avoided heating it but it was still delicious. A must-see: fresh fish at yummy prices.
