Jabal al-Awliya' Dam, Khartoum

#6 of 6 in Parks in Sudan
Dam · Hidden Gem · Nature / Park
Located on the White Nile, Jabal al-Awliya' Dam ranked as the world's largest dam in the 1930s. Take a short drive across the river to this secluded area, where you can find the perfect picnic spot next to the dam. In the right season, you may see a plethora of fish shooting out of the waters. Bring your fishing gear to take advantage of the situation. The best time for this is early morning, as the larger fish tend to enjoy cooler water temperatures.
