#2 of 7 in Things to do in Badulla
Built across the Galland Oya River in the 16th century, Bogoda Wooden Bridge is entirely made up of organic material, chiefly jackfruit and arjun tree logs and wooden nails. Standing on a huge, 11 m (36 ft) long tree trunk, the 1.5 m (4.9 ft) wide footbridge has wooden fences erected on either side. The structure is covered by a 2.4 m (7.9 ft) tiled roof spanning its entire length of nearly 15 m (49 ft). This is considered as the oldest surviving wooden bridge in Sri Lanka.
