Started of with a short 10 min presentation about the different types of wood and preparation of natural colours. You can witness the artists working. They have some excellent pieces for sale but they are very overpriced. Definitely not worth buying souvenirs here. Realised I paid twice the price, that too after bargaining.

A great place to come in Sri Lanka for art, carvings and furniture. They have masks, tables, chairs, chest, bowls, statues and wood carvings. Prices are fixed but you can ask for a discount. They accept most currencies. They also have an export license so you are oder pieces to ship home. You can ask for a certificate to show to customs if you buy something to take home with you.
