Trip Planner: Europe / Spain / Andalucia / Province of Malaga / Costa del Sol / Sayalonga / Bodegas Bentomiz
Bodegas Bentomiz is a family winery that we, André Both and Clara Verheij, founded in 2003. We had already restored the abandoned vineyards and realised the potential of the local Moscatel de Alejandría grape, to produce delicate, personal wines of exceptional quality. We called the wines ARIYANAS - once the name of an arabic settlement nearby, it also means aromatic, which the wines certainly are. They met a very enthusiastic reception among wine lovers, like ourselves.Put Bodegas Bentomiz into our Sayalonga sightseeing app to see other points of interest to visit during your vacation in Sayalonga.
That's very much what we still are. We love good wine, good food and the beautiful Axarquia region we live in. We love good, subtle, modern Malaga wines: and that is what we make.

What an amazing place. When for the tour, tasting and 5 course meal. For the tasting you get 4 wines which personally I enjoyed all of them. The food was something else. The chef comes out and tells you what the course is. We got the recommended wines for each course which worked wonderfully and not all of them were the same from the tasting. They also said if we were to go back and told them what food we had they would serve us something different. We'll worth every penny spent here. We also decided to buy a few bottles of wine for ourselves.
For the most, it was a common Monday... for us, it was a lucky day. First of all, the bodega is closed on Monday, but ... not today. Next, we reached the bodega by accident, at the middle of a visit organised for Amer'ican tourists whose gently invited us to join their tour. Thanks to the perfect organisation of the guide who made the necessary arrangements to integrate us, the tasting was both professional and well illustrated. And finally, the 3 courses lunch was delightful thanks to each dish elaborated with regards to the wine to be tasted. Leading all this, Mr André who's generous with his wines, dishes and the accompanying explanations. We particularly appreciated the starter "façon tartare" with citrus caviar. This was an enchanted episode. We are lucky.
