Get up-close and personal with animals from six different continents at Zoo de Santillana, considered by the World Wildlife Federation to be one of Spain’s top zoos. Covering an area of 6 hectares (14.8 acres), the zoo is home to 37 programs dedicated to breeding endangered species in captivity. Observe the resident animals at close range through daily feeding programs. Travel through the world’s ecosystems by visiting specially-designed habitats including the Tropical Garden, the Quaternary Park, and the Aquaterrium. Grab a bite to eat at the zoo’s cafe, also serving Spanish paella, or bring your own lunch to eat in the picnic area. Prepare appropriately for the weather as the zoo is sizeable and its eating and viewing areas are primarily outdoors. Free parking is available on the grounds of the park.   • Great little zoo. Went especially to see the white tigers, and we were not disappointed . The brown bears were very active too. Some of the zoo looked a little tired, but the animals looked well...  more »
  • Like others have said, you can see the difference that lots of money makes to prettying up surroundings for animals - this is more basic. However, all the animals were in good condition and healthy.....  more »
  • Did not like the living standards of the animals , the bears looked half starved and so did many of the animals. There were no green areas in some of the enclosures as the animals had eaten all the grass. Most of the animals looked miserable. I was very sad It cost much family of 11 ( 4 children ) 180 euro to get in. I have no problem paying but would have hoped the animals were better looked after.
  • A small zoo but we had a great time. There is a good variety of animals although when we visited it was in the quiet season and all food outlets were closed.
