Monte do Gozo, or Hill of Joy, is the hill where pilgrims on the Way of St. James catch the first glimpse of their destination, the Cathedral of Santiago. Statues of pilgrims pointing the way stand at the top of the hill, inviting you to take a photo with them. There's an albergue, or hostel, for pilgrims wishing to rest before making the final leg of their journey to the cathedral. There's a small church here, as well as a few coffee shops where you can grab refreshments to enjoy with your view.
