Jutting out into the emerald Bay of Santander, Peninsula of Magdalena contains the Palacio de la Magdalena palace and gardens and two clean beaches for your lazing pleasure. Head to the peninsula's small zoo to glimpse penguins and seals. Check out the full-scale reproduction of the Santa María, one of Columbus’ ships that sailed to the New World. Paths offer views of dramatic cliffs over the Cantabrian Sea. Alternatively, a small train circles the peninsula, delivering the same vistas with significantly less effort. Um lugar para um passeio a pé, para apreciar a natureza. Fomos de manhã cedo e vale a pena ver o nascer do dia ali. O Palácio estava fechado mas o local merece uma visita mesmo sem visitar o edifício ... more »A place for a walk, to enjoy nature. We went early in the morning and it's worth seeing the sunrise there. The palace was closed but the site deserves a visit even without visiting the building inside. Possibly one of the most beautiful sites in Santander.
It's very beautiful place. You can go to castle Magdalena or visit mini zoo. Over there is amazing view. You should to visit this place if you in Santander
Inside the palace is exquisite and at 3 euros for a guided tour well worth it but the grounds and seascapes are stunning. You can see and hear the power of the waves crashing into the cliffs. A short bus journey (1.30 euros each way) will take you there and entry to the grounds is free.
