Loro Parque, Puerto de la Cruz

4.5
#1 of 74 in Zoos & Aquariums in Spain
Must see · Aquarium · Zoo
Loro Parque boasts the world’s largest collection of parrots—over 350 different species. It also shelters numerous other animals, including chimpanzees, tigers, sea lions, alligators, pelicans, exotic fish, otters, jaguars, and gorillas. For many tourists, the highlight of their visit is the underground aquarium, offering daily dolphin and whale shows. With its unusual blend of tourist entertainment and serious conservation, the park has introduced over 40 million visitors to the principles of animal preservation. Most tourists have their picture taken with a parrot right at the entrance, which creates long waiting lines. For immediate access, book your ticket online and skip the parrot photo op. Make Loro Parque part of your personalized Puerto de la Cruz itinerary using our Puerto de la Cruz driving holiday website.

  • We went to the private tour of the park for €100 per person, well worth the money but we left the park also feeling conflicted. Starting with the good bits: Loro Park was among the cleanest, best...  more »

  • A must-see attraction if you visit Tenerife!! The work they do both here at the park and worldwide too is fantastic. Its not expensive and there are places to sit/eat/drink all over the park... Plenty of toilets too! If you love animals, or just want to enjoy a great day out please give it a go. You won't be disappointed!
  • We visited this park in June 2019 and I must say it was one of the best animal parks we have ever been to. The enclosures are all good sizes especially the penguin enclosure which is honestly amazing themed on the Antarctic and the animals all seem happy and well looked after and the keepers all seemed to car about the animals welfare. We will definitely be back in June/July 2020 I highly recommend booking with jet2 as the transfers is fast and efficient.
