Cuevas dels Hams, Porto Cristo

Cave · Nature / Park
On a guided tour of the subterranean caves of Cuevas dels Hams, discovered in 1905, admire an impressive array of stalagmites, stalactites, and underwater lakes. Artistic lighting adds to the mysterious atmosphere of this underground world. Look for the fish hook–shaped formations to which the caves owe their name, as "hams" means "hooks" in Spanish. Your tour ends at the biggest of all the lakes, where you listen to classical music played from an animatronic gondola. After all, this lake is called the "Sea of Venice."
