  • About 6 km from Palas de Rei is located in a rural landscape this beautiful Romanesque Church of the thirteenth century. Although we were carrying a guide (Paul) who on the bus had indicated that it would be taught to us by a 91-year-old local (no one would say it for how well preserved ). It insisted that the Church dated back to the 6th century and other outright explanations. She was a female monastery, hence the Donuts, before she was handed over to an Order of Cavalry.

  • I had the doubt to visit the Church. I've finally made up my mind. A few more kms, it has been worth seeing this jewel of the Romanesque with its paintings and everything that is on its exterior and interior. Wonderful

  • It's amazing the way to pass so close and so few people are approaching this wonder. I going alone decided to do it. I'm not saying that halfway (are 4 km of ida) not to think about myself since I had many km over. But it was worth the effort. Seemed impressive as it is conserved and recovered paintings. A girl told me how little. So I advise, desviate a bit of the beaten path...

  • It's hot afternoon but you decide to head to the Iglesia de San Salvador. You have to take a detour to the path with an addition of about 6 km. but it's worth it. You walk in a street before ugliness that then becomes paved but very busy. When you arrive at the village of Villar de Donas you will meet many people who are heading to the mass of 17 who walk, who in a taxi, who in the car. Some older gentlemen stop to talk. Entering many were already seated but a very kind lady immediately beckons us to approach her where she puts a beautiful and strange shale. The church is Romanesque and it is very beautiful, it give us some information. Frescoes in the dome behind the altar: the annunciation to Our Lady, the pregnant Madonna, a sun with a sneer at the top, a bleeding Christ. I leave a message as a reminder of my passage. The church is getting more and more crowded x the function that is going to start is the time to reconnect to the main path x get to Palas de Rei. I strongly recommend stopping.
