Architectural Building · Hidden Gem · Tourist Spot
Admire the lavish rounded tower of Metropolis Building, which is covered with 30,000 leaves of 24 carat gold. This city landmark, constructed in 1911, stands along one of Madrid’s busiest streets. Study its ornate French Beaux-Arts style architecture and look for the four statues that sit atop the columns. The statues represent mining, agriculture, industry, and commerce. To enjoy the view of the building a little longer, buy a drink and sit outside at one of the many nearby bars.
