  • In this city we can observe very old buildings like this that make Lugo have a very great interest for the visitor, apart from its grandiose wall.

  • Making travel between San Martín de Mondoñedo and Mondoñedo, passed by Lourenzá and from the road caught our attention the imposing Tower of the monastery, so made a stop along the way and worth it. Although it can be difficult to find a schedule of visit of the monastery of San Salvador (seem to be the official hours of guided tour 12 o'clock and 6 o'clock), a kind gentleman and later a young man gave us access to the impressive building ant awhile It is. Only remains in use Church, granite, impresses and evokes buildings in Santiago de Compostela of similar age. The building is Baroque with neoclassical traces, and is very beautiful altar greatest work of Ventura Rodríguez with the motive of Transubstantiation. Aside from the legend of the Holy Earl, founder and main patron of the original monastery, the sarcophagus of marble where you lay your body is precious and is installed on a smart Board of Renaissance altar with Sphinxes of Mannerist style in the stands. The Baroque shrine of six bodies with 27 small sculptures of the characters whose relics are stored is magnificent. They are a huge expressive and remind the similar piece from the monastery of the Encarnación of Madrid. The whole is more than worth a visit.

  • This site we saw by chance as we passed through Lourenzá, on the way back home and stopped immediately, we were very pleasantly surprised. I think it belongs to the way of Santiago. The facade is of the same architect who made the Cathedral of Santiago de Compostela. It is a square and a beautiful church on the outside and inside. That thanks to its beautiful and immense vaults, when you enter it has fantastic acoustics and you hear Gregorian songs in the background that convey a lot of peace and inner well-being. It's worth sitting around a little bit, listening and watching all the details. 100% recommended. If it's been helpful to you, like it, thank you.
