Cueva Palomera reviews
Very good experience. We made the short route (2h 30') but we will repeat to make the route long. They leave you with a helmet with light to see inside the cave. It is not like the tourist caves that have a walkway but you have to wear mountain boots because the terrain is quite rocky. At first there is a slightly slippery area and low roof but there are handrails to help you. The beginning is the worst piece, then it is no longer so slippery the ground although you have to be careful with the loose rocks. We were lucky that there were only six of us and the guide was very nice.
We've made the long visit, about 3 hours inside the cave. A big difference from other caves that I have visited as Valporquero or Tito Bustillo: it is unadapted, without lighting, only with the helmet and the front light, there is a moment when we turn off the light we are dark and silent. You can hear nothing, something impossible in more crowded caves where you have to stand inside to dodge other groups. Besides it is a very nice cave, the tour does not do anything heavy and the guides very good.
