  • Excellent ethnographic museum in an unbeatable enclave. However, some guide or audio guide is missing. I thought the security guard would come with you and give you little comments. Either they put a real guide or they make the visit free.

  • The Museum of Popular Arts and Customs of Alto Guadalquivir is housed in the Castle of the Yedra, in Cazorla, Jaén. It has two distinct sections; history and popular arts and customs. In the first room of the museum has been installed a chapel with a Romanesque-Byzantine Christ of life size mounted on cypress wood cross. It is surrounded by a complete collection of twelve anonymous paintings from the 17th century depicting the Apostles and a baroque carving of Bishop St. Ambrose. In the second room (weapons room) of the Museum of Popular Arts and Customs of the Upper Guadalquivir is decorated with panoply in the form of a shield with various weapons: swords, crossbows, axes, alphanjes, etc. It also has two carved armors and arches, as well as furniture from the sixteenth and seventeenth centuries. The third room (noble room), is the one that most architecturally stands out for its finish in a Gothic cross vault and its windows of arches pointed with parteluz, also Gothic. It exhibits three 17th-century flemish tapestries, signed by Ian Raes and four bargueños, together with their corresponding 18th-century tables.
