Cape Point, Table Mountain National Park

4.7
Take a tour of Cape Point, a dramatic seaside promontory and part of Table Mountain National Park, known for its scenic landscape and hiking trails. The narrow coastline, discovered in 1488 by Bartholomeu Dias, became famous as the birthplace of the "Flying Dutchman" legend. A bird-watching paradise, the area shelters more than 200 species, including the African penguin, as well as a variety of other creatures like Chacma baboon, fallow deer, whales, and the elusive Cape mountain zebra. For travelers who use our world travel planner, Cape Town holidays become easier to arrange, with trips to the Cape Point and other attractions mapped out and timetabled.

  • Cape Point is a MUST do if you are in South Africa. I rented a car and drove down with my friend. It's absolutely beautiful. The walk up to the top takes maybe 15-30 minutes depending on your speed, but it is not very strenuous and it is well worth the time.
  • Very nice place to spend time, you need a lot of time (I suggest coming as early as 8am and leave as the park closes) as there are lot of things to do, see and enjoy
