This wine estate is spectacular. It has a rich history and the old Cape Dutch charm is still very evident here. I love the long row of trees as you drive into the estate. The gardens are spectacular. I haven’t spent lots of time there on my visit but know this i cant wait to return and explore this great estate some more.
We made an impromptu visit to Neethlingshof Wine Estate and as we were a big group (around 10 people) we knew the chances of us getting a big enough table would be very difficult, and to top it off it was an extremely windy day (outside the wind was blowing glasses off the tables) so we wanted to sit inside. Luckily they made a plan and we got a very nice table indoors. The have 3 tastings available which consist out of their Estate Range, Short Story Collection (Flagship Range) or a combination of the two. Being familiar with their wines I know the quality that they produce throughout both their ranges so I decided to do a tasting of their Short Story Collection which is completely worth it. They also do pairings and wine cellar tours which you need to book in advance. They have a restaurant on the estate though I haven't dined there before, but it is very convenient if you do a wine pairing and then grab something to eat afterwards. We had a great time and the fact that they managed to organize a table for us put the cherry on top. I do however advise you make a booking if you are a large group to ensure you get a table.
