Liliesleaf
Learn about the evolution of armed resistance against apartheid at Liliesleaf, a heritage museum detailing the struggle of the African National Congress at its secret headquarters. A meeting place and hideout for many ANC leaders and activists until their arrest in 1963, this heritage farm was once the center of the liberation movement. Opened in 2008, the museum tells the story of the struggle by detailing the biographies of key leaders. Join a guided tour to see a collection of photos and artifacts detailing the evolution of modern South African democracy. You can also admire a manor house, a thatched cottage, and a water tank bunker, as well as watching video material related to the infamous Rivonia trials following the police raid of the farm in 1963. Our Rivonia trip itinerary builder site makes visiting Liliesleaf and other Rivonia attractions simple, and helps you make a travel plan personal to you.

This is a fantastic museum. It is highly interactive with buttons to push and, interviews to hear. The museum is a world class heritage site and the best museum I have been to any where in SA. Great for school trips for history learners. Learners are sent on a scavenger hunt through the museum which appeals to all grades. I highly recommend this museum as a stop for anyone interested in SA history from both a local and international perspective

It was so informative and educational. I loved the experience. SA patriots would enjoy it. The on-site cafe was okay, we did not get to spend time there but it's quiet and relaxing to hang around after the tour, just arrive before closing time ;-).
