Apart from the pristine estuary, an adventure through the infamous Knysna Head will be the ultimate boating experience. Once out to sea the world is our oyster, where one can experience a vast array of bird and marine life as well as breath-taking scenery, for example: Buffalo Bay, Noetzie Castles and the beautiful surroundings.
When the conditions of the Knysna Heads are unsafe the adventure will continue down the Knysna estuary which has its own variety of scenery and birdlife. Be sure that this is no ordinary lagoon cruise!!!

Knysna RIB Adventures Reviews
We had THE most fantastic time out on the boat with Brian. What a really nice person!- and so knowledgeable about the landscape and sea life. My boyfriend and I were booked to go out with a bigger gro... more »
We spent four days in Knysna in early April and near the top of our wish-list was a trip on the Knysna RIB which we had discovered though tripadviser. Initially, we feared we would be unlucky as the w... more »
For mine and my twin sister’s birthday we went on a 30 minute ride out to the heads. The ocean was a bit rough but the skipper was experienced and we felt safe. The ride was great fun, we were given more time than we paid for and thoroughly enjoyed getting a little wet. Would highly recommend using Knysna Rib Adventures!
When we were on the Featherbed ferrie a fast going boat raced 🚤 passed us. 'That seems worth investigating', I thought 💭. A day later we joined a tour and it was exhilarating. We thoroughly enjoying every minute. The sea 🌊 was boarder edge to rough to go through the Heads, but the skipper still thought it to be safe. We played around in the waves, bumping and speeding forward. Then we spotted the huge school of dolphins 🐬. I am sure they sensed our enjoyment and started following us, swimming next to the boat and jumping out of the ocean. With the Knoetzie castles in the distance we turned around looking at the white water crashing on the rocks. A highly recommend this outing for the adventurer in you. At no time did I feel unsafe. Practical advice: * Do book in advance, but pay 💰 on arrival in case the weather conditions change. * lots of suntan lotion ☀️and a tight fitting hat 🧢 and sunglasses 😎 or rather leave it on shore. * Don't take any extra's, it will only be in your way, though every seat has a little storage box that can fit a small backpack. You will need to hold onto the rail in front of you, so your hands must be free. * If you have a tendency for sea sickness, rather don't eat immediately before the trip, though it is such an adrenaline rush, you mind will be somewhere else. * There are a couple of splashes into the boat, but we were completely dry when arrived back on shore. * I will not recommend this outing for small children. Verify with the management. * I don't have enough insight to advise people with impairments, but I will highly recommend you consult with management to verify if they cannot accommodate you somehow, because once on the boat and you can hold on yourself, you should be fine. The price absolutely compliment the experience. Management was willing to refund us a portion if the sea was to rough to go out into the ocean.
