  • This museum is very interesting and very educational, without being partisan. It allows to trace in the history of these Huguenots hunted and settled in this region of South Africa. Their names of families and their origins are thus presented. It is curious sometimes to find a last name, the name of a village near you. Many objects and photos appear in the Museum's 2 buildings. The second building in front of the ticket office has a large mural mural very well designed to easily grasp the history with many focus on the history of France since the Saint Bartholomew, the edict of Nantes then the decades that have regular. We really enjoyed this place which I would recommend visiting.

  • Beautiful old antiques of the French Huguenot era, a memorial built for religious freedom (Protestant fled Catholic prosecution, reason they fled to SA). Also includes a wonderful building with a timeline for the sequence of events throughout history for the Huguenots, and a display of the original surnames and how they changed over time of the first 300 settlers to arrive in the Cape.
  • Nice piece of history and architecture. Great stroll in an indigenous garden next to the museum.
