Singapore Art Museum Reviews
This is such a graceful building that has been tastefully restored to house a wonderful vollection of general and cultural. This building was once the Singapore seat of rule and law and its historic p... more »
more »I visited it while confirming it on a map. The building of the church style was able to be reached in the distance as if aiming at this. The front was an open space like a driveway, and the sign to show the museum was also complete. Ruling, I can not go out on the inside of the building is currently under construction, only to see the appearance as a retro architecture.
If you are living in Singapore then you should definitely visit this National Museum one day because this shows you the history of Singapore by various exhibitions, historic objects and many audio clippings. The Museum shows you the beginning of this land by portraits and clips too If you are an art lover you should not miss this place in Level 1 (history) cause you will love it. In Level 2 its a forest journey and you will enjoy if you're with your family or friends Your kids will love the 3D experience in Level2. A Basement Level is also opened now which is about Polaroid. If you are a science lover you will love it. Altogether it was a good experience.
An interesting Art Museum showing rare masterpieces of Claude Monet and other Impressionists. I expected less from this museum, but was impressed to see loaned masterpieces from European galleries, like d'Orsay. At time of our visit (March 2018) there was a special exhibition, showing masterpieces from Monet, Renoir, Juan Luna and others. The building itself is a spectacular, Neoclassical in style, but too large for the pieces of art i offers. An hour is enough to take at look at the most prominent pictures.

A former boy’s mission school, the museum is home to a collection of contemporary art from the region, including works by 12 Singapore-based artists. The Singapore Art Museum (SAM) has a great collection of contemporary art from the region. It has showcased a variety of paintings, sculptures & art installations by various artists. Its permanent gallery, Once Upon This Island, comprises works by 12 Singapore-based artists that explore what it means to live in this contemporary city-state. Travellers can also visit SAM at 8Q, a wing of the museum located across the road, to see the Moving Image Gallery, where film screenings are held. There are cafés and restaurants for visitors to have a meal after art appreciation.
