Curieuse Island, Praslin Island

#2 of 12 in Nature in Seychelles
Must see · Island · Nature / Park
A small and pristine landmass floating on the cerulean Indian Ocean, Curieuse Island remains a slice of undisturbed paradise. Covering just 2.86 sq km (1.1 sq mi), this tiny speck off the north coast of Praslin features deep red earth and bio-reserve forests. Walk through dense mangrove forests--home to the extremely rare and iconic Coco de Mer palm--and keep an eye out for the giant Aldabra tortoise colony and a rare sighting of a Seychelles black parrot. Most visitors to the island choose to visit with a tour operator, as there are no restaurants or facilities on site.
