  • The best museum in St. Petersburg. Branch of the Hermitage with impressionists, post-impressionists, some Russian artists and great temporary exhibitions. Better than the main Hermitage building in my view and a way less crowded. Is absolutely worth a visit.
  • The modern art collection of the Hermitage is located in the General Staff Building. The entrance is on the left side facing away from the Winter Palace. One of the greatest collection of the modern art of late 1800‘s to early 1900‘s. No long lines unlike the Winter Palace. You can actually buy tickets to Winter Palace at this Location as well, which is not well known.
