Learn about one of Russia's most-celebrated writers at The Anna Akhmatova Museum, dedicated to the poet's life, times, and works. Akhmatova herself once lived in this apartment, which is part of a larger Baroque palace complex. Visit the museum and admire its collection of over 50,000 items, including manuscripts, photos, and artwork by Akhmatova and other related figures. The museum vividly portrays the struggles Akhmatova and her contemporaries faced during the rise of the USSR and Stalinist period, when much of their work was repressed. • Akhmatova is very close to me, I hope soon I will get her museum! Peter is one of the favorite places of my travels. It is a city hero, a city poet, a city painting!!!!

  • Very atmospheric place. This is the memorial apartment of Anna Akhmatova, where her personal belongings are kept, among which drafts and letters are of special value and cause awe in the breasts of every visitor. I was very impressed with the letter written to Stalin with a request to release her son Lev Gumilev. Here, in the Fountain House, in the apartment of the famous art critic and theorist of avant-garde Nikolai Punin, Anna Akhmatova lived almost 30 years. Also on the ground floor you can see the American study of I. Brodsky. It was also possible to visit the installation timed to the 75 anniversary of the poet Oleg Grigoriev-curious! (But the atmosphere is depressing)

  • Great museum. Friendly people. The only thing that's missing in my opinion are translated bits from the poems in English.
  • A small museum with big history about Soviet time, Russian revolution, Russian literature, festivals, lectures, concerts and two lovely ginger cats
